New Years Eve 2010 was an exciting event. Erika performed at the Isles Casino in Pompano Beach, FL. Originally, she and another performer were contracted to perform fire: poi, staff, fans, etc. However, after the first set, the casino decided that the smoke was at risk of setting off the fire alarms, so every remaining set was performed with glow props.
Add to the fact that, on the way to the casino, one of the cars got a flat tire and the fire department required more fire safety officers than the company provided, the evening could have been a disaster. But, thanks to her IATSE member boyfriend, more than one crisis was avoided and the evening went on without incident.
