As an actor, I have a wide variety of interests. Every project seems to open a new door to something interesting, which leads to something else, then something else. I have a bad tendency to fall down the rabbit hole on a lot of subjects, so here you can find a collection of some of those interests.
First of all, I LOVE TRAVELLING. Our world is so fascinating and human beings have accomplished so much as a species…. Leaving your every day, which we have a bad tendency to take for granted, allows us to appreciate those beautiful things that exist in the world.
Then, I’ve done a decent amount of research into yoga and eastern religions. Anyone who’s practiced yoga can tell you how centering and calming a single session can be. I can attest to its ability to build and maintain a strong and supple body. As for religions, at one point I thought I was Buddhist, but then I realized that I had no desire to give up all desire. I looked into the Tao, but then I realized it just kept changing. In any regard, I deeply respect the eastern religions and try to incorporate them into my western way of living.
Speaking of, I try to adore fashion. The fact is, in a lot of ways, I don’t care what I look like or what people think about what I’m wearing. You really kinda can’t care, if you act. Chances are really good that someday you’ll have to wear and do or say something that embarrasses you, so you learn to not be embarrassed. Anyway, I try to stay aware of trends, even when I have that skeptical voice looking at commercials or magazines and screaming out “WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY TRYING TO SELL YOU? THAT LOOKS RIDICULOUS! NO ONE COULD LOOK GOOD IN THAT!” Well, sometimes people DO look good in it. I just try to keep in mind “how will we look at that in fifty years, as a society?”
Finally, I’ve always been interested in eating well and staying healthy, but I became even more interested when I discovered a few years back that I have a genetic condition called “Factor V Leiden.” Basically, my blood clots faster than other people’s. So, at the age of 30, I developed a deep vein clot in my leg and it sent mini clots to my lungs; a potentially life-threatening condition, yes (some people can die within minutes from this, if the clots are big enough to obscure the lungs’ ability to transport oxygen to the body), but we thankfully caught it, despite my lacking any of the “typical” patient qualities or symptomatic signs, and now, thanks to research, I know what I need to do to stay healthy in the future.
