This last fall I started a job that epitomizes what I feel is the best use of a theatrical and artistic career: I clown for children at the hospital. No, we don’t walk in and just start ignorantly trying to make children laugh through their tears. And as I’ve known quite a few people withContinue reading “Clown Care”

Fantasy Theatre Factory
I have had the pleasure of working with South Florida’s own Fantasy Theatre Factory since early 2013. Incorporated in 1982, Fantasy Theatre’s Mission is to cultivate, foster, sponsor and develop appreciation, understanding, taste and love of theatre arts among the general public-specifically children. Literature and Environmental Education are core components of Fantasy Theatre’s Mission. As literatureContinue reading “Fantasy Theatre Factory”
The Tempest
Unfortunately, I already knew I wasn’t going to be able to participate in the production: I had already arranged to go study with the Moscow Art Theater School in Russia this past January, when performances were to take place. However, Director Colleen Stovall graciously made other plans for me. While I wouldn’t be available for production, she still chose toContinue reading “The Tempest”

Erika’s Contortion Demo
Erika was a competitive gymnast for 6 years; when she retired, she traded gym practices for theater rehearsals and was often cast in roles that required her to perform acrobatic skills on stage. She’s always possessed a flexible back and maintained the ability to hold a steady handstand, even with many years away from theContinue reading “Erika’s Contortion Demo”
Erika’s Hula Hoops Demo
Erika performs a hula hoop act where she manipulates hula hoops one, two, three and twenty at a time; first, she maneuvers an undulating hoop from her hand, to her foot, above her head and, of course, around her waist. She typically performs this act in tandem with contortion.

In February of 2012, Erika portrayed Hermia in Midsummer Night’s Dream with Shakespeare Miami. Run by Colleen Stovall, the company promotes literacy and appreciation of the arts through free performances of the work of William Shakespeare and promotes tourism in Miami-dade County as a destination spot for arts and entertainment. Out, dog! out, cur! thouContinue reading “A Midsummer Night’s Dream 2012”

A Christmas Carol 2011
This last December, Powerful Huntress Productions brought an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to Miami, free to audiences. Written by Erika, this version of A Christmas Carol featured 3 actors playing every role in the traditional 5 acts. The show ran for 3 weeks at a local Starbucks and Lutheran Church.
Sugar Plum Fairy
Despite a prolonged hiatus from ballet (modern contemporary and circus don’t count), Erika has returned to her roots in recent years and has appeared as a guest artist in various dance school productions of The Nutcracker. While co-founding and helping build Florida Artistic Ballet into a company, she played everything from Arabian (Chocolate) to MirletonContinue reading “Sugar Plum Fairy”
Musicals
Erika majored in Musical Theater at New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL. She has also appeared a variety of musicals in other venues. She is typically cast in roles requiring a strong dancer, but she’s also a fairly accomplished soprano and holds a BFA in Acting. Most recently she was seen asContinue reading “Musicals”
