Theater Classes

Erika teaches group and private theater lessons to students ages 7 & up.

For younger students, she focuses on theater games that encourage the maintenance and development of natural creativity, exercises to encourage that creativity’s expression, and skills for personal presentation.  Depending on the student, this can range from preparing for audition opportunities to overcoming shyness.

For older students, warm ups encourage rediscovery of childlike creativity, range and dexterity of the voice, range and dexterity of the body, memorization skills and presentation exercises.  Since today’s society has a tendency to squelch creativity, older students are given different sets of exercises aimed at their varying stages of development.  Classes may also center around monologue development and performance, improvisation skills and/or scene work.

She has taught theater classes at Actors’ Playhouse in Coral Gables, FL, Miami Children’s Theater and acting classes designed for dance students at Conchita Espinosa Academy.
