Erika’s Contortion Demo

Erika was a competitive gymnast for 6 years; when she retired, she traded gym practices for theater rehearsals and was often cast in roles that required her to perform acrobatic skills on stage.

She’s always possessed a flexible back and maintained the ability to hold a steady handstand, even with many years away from the gym.  When she started working for circus companies, first as a dancer and then as an apprentice, this led to contortion training and contortion gigs.

Due to the high demand for this type of self-contained performance in South Florida, she has since shifted her focus from aerial lyra (which requires a venue to have safe and proper rigging) to hand balancing and contortion, performing her theatrical act for bat mitzvahs, weddings, fashion events, tree lighting ceremonies, club gigs, corporate events and fund raising events.
