So I have found a renewed sense of playing with fashion and since the last time I wore (or tried to create the effect of) holographic nail polish, I have discovered that beauty products have long since EVOLVED.
Waaaaaaaaay back when, 12 years ago, when I first went through a fascination with holographic glitz and glam, I layered sparkly holographic glitter polish atop a layer of silver nail polish. It was cute, but a process to apply, and never quite looked as *HoLoGrApHiC* as I had wanted.
Twelve years later and here we are: Layla Hologram Effect nail polish, available at Ulta.
Two quick layers (finish one layer on all your nails and by the time you’re finished, you’ll be just about ready for your second coat) and the polish blends from a satin silver to a light reflective holograph effect. However, you have to be quick – for some reason the polish starts to cling and gloop if you hesitate with your strokes. Apply it with authority and assuredness and you’ll end up with a surprisingly easy manicure that will make people go “ooh! Shiny!”
