Erika spent a couple years as a company member with Momentum Dance Company in Miami, FL.
Founded in 1982, and in continuous operation since, Momentum is one of the oldest and most established contemporary dance companies in the Southeastern U.S. Momentum’s activities include: the Miami Dance Festival (since 2002) concert seasons in South Florida; concert series for children in both Miami Beach and Coral Gables; educational programs in schools; ongoing residencies at South Miami Middle School, R.R.Moton Elementary School, Ferguson High School, and Artz-n-the Hood; educational programs for adults; appearances at community events and festivals; special projects and touring.
The company performed children’s ballets at Miami’s Book Fair International, Dade County Public Libraries, Dade County Public Schools, museums and with the youth orchestra at Dade County Auditorium. Erika was given the honor to perform Little Red in Little Red Riding Hood, the en pointe roles of The Angel in Hansel and Gretel and The Bird in Peter and the Wolf; she also premiered the roles of the Ugly Duckling in The Ugly Duckling, the Cuckoo Bird in Carnival of the Animals and choreographed her own solo as the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland.
