Erika toured with the educational tour Foodplay. With 10-15 shows a week for 4 months, Erika spent a lot of time in a van driving city to city in New England with her co-stars-turned-best-friends.
Erika starred as “Janey Junkfood,” an aspiring juggler who, along with the elementary aged audience, goes on a journey to learn healthy eating habits.
As Peter Taber of Maine Coast Now wrote:
“As for Janey Junkfood, when the show began she was clearly clueless on such topics although the lithe body of actor Erika Johnson might have belied such ignorance. In real life the Florida native has been making her professional acting debut this year with FoodPlay, touring five Northeast states in a partnership with the Hannaford Bros. Co. grocery chain to teach in an entertaining way basic nutritional concepts to elementary school youngsters.”
